Important information about the upcoming election on February 11 from Mr. Weinsheimer

Dear CHE Families:

I want to share some important information with you about the upcoming election on February 11. In the next few days you will receive a ballot asking you to consider renewing our current local levy to continue supporting our school and programs. The renewal levy replaces our existing levy that expires at the end of 2025, and it is not a new tax.

The renewal of this levy directly impacts the programs and services offered at Crescent Harbor Elementary and throughout the Oak Harbor School District by providing funding for the following:

• Art and music programs that inspire creativity and expression

• Student support such as our dean, paraeducators in our classrooms and smaller class sizes

• Health and safety enhancements such as a full-time school nurse and improvements to building safety to ensure our schools are secure.

Please remember to vote on February 11.  There is still time to register to vote if you haven’t already! In case you didn’t know, military members and their spouses can register to vote in local elections. You can register online, by mail or in person at the Island County Elections Office in Coupeville.
